About the Event

On March 14-15, IAFN host a Photography Symposium to explore the complex issues involved with the use of photography in forensic practices. Top speakers in the field will inform our discussions and help promote the groundwork for developing best practices for photography used in forensic nursing.

Topics: When to take photographs, patient consent, release of photographs for criminal investigation, storage of photographs, and future trends.

Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
    1. Discuss the legal and ethical issues involved in obtaining and using forensic photographs/images
        (e.g. informed consent).
    2. Describe the techniques used when obtaining forensic photographs/images.
    3. Discuss the security and storage of forensic photographs/images.
    4. Describe the current research and trends in the use of forensic photography
