This webinar will address best practices in the identification and interpretation of acute and chronic physical findings of child sexual abuse. Findings will be discussed in the context of examination timing and techniques, child characteristics, best-practice guidelines, and legal considerations. A summary of research findings regarding child sexual abuse physical findings will be presented. Although the webinar will address findings diagnostic of trauma and/or sexual contact, reasons for lack of physical findings will also be discussed. The webinar will culminate in a presentation of cases to facilitate application of knowledge gained.
The International Association of Forensic Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (COA).
At the completion of the webinar, participants will receive a link to complete an evaluation form. Contact hours will be granted upon completion of the evaluation. This webinar will provide one (1) nursing contact hour.
